MA-05: Tsongas says Illegal Immigrants are American Citizens and Deserve Drivers Licenses

How did I miss this one?  During the NECN debate last week, Niki Tsongas called illegal immigrants Amercian Citizens already.  Nevermind a pathway to citizenship, in Niki's heart she believes they already are citizens.  Talk about your Freudian slips.

And hey since they are already citizens we should probably give them drivers licenses right Niki?

Read on . . .

"[Tsongas] supports driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and 'path to citizenship' for illegal immigrants." (Laura Crimaldi, "5th District Candidates All Fired Up," The Boston Herald, 10/14/07)

The problem with this support for drivers licenses is that due to the REAL ID Act starting on December 31, 2009 all drivers licenses for all states must be of the same design and may not be granted to illegal aliens.  Deval Patrick in his race for Governor effectively dodged that question because he said it was settled federal law.  One must wonder if Niki Tsongas will support weakening our anti-terrorism legislation establishing a defacto national ID to help illegals get drivers licenses.

If you live near the district please call Mark at 978-269-5080 to find out how to volunteer between now and Tuesday.

so does spitz by cad1cts

So does Gov Spitzer one of the worst, if not the worst governor in NY's LONG LONG LONG succession of horrible governors. Is it any wonder I DETEST this socialist/liberal/progressive near-paradise (next to SF, CA, and MA of course)

I think she meant unfair to children of immigrants, children who are born here and are therefore citizens.

...but it almost seems like she makes illegals out to be better citizens than the rest of us.

All of the things she says illegals add to society could also be added by us normal Americans. Why do we NEED undocumented workers.
