**I’ve done quite a bit of research on the RMSP prior to the election and stopped for a while to avoid torpedoing our candidate and our chances in the 2008 elections. I am re-posting planning this to bring everyone back to speed on what I’ve posted to date and I hope this will be the first of several installments depending how well this is received and if it get’s enough interest to make the additional research worth the effort.

One more before the review…Since the election is now over I’ll add one more little tidbit that I buried when this was first posted. The RMSP has an award that is given out to the person that year who has done the most to promote their moderate, (read subversive and liberal), positions…their most prominent member to receive this award in the last several years is none other than one JOHN SYDNEY MCCAIN. One of the first principles of sales and especially in representing clients in the Real Estate business is to always “under promise, and over deliver”. While I don’t think this simple and common sense principle of sales necessarily applies to politics. It is the starting premise of this article and I’ll explain what I mean when I close this out.

Let’s start with 1994. Most of us remember or have heard about The Contract with America. Yet few remember or discuss the campaign that was carried out prior to the Republican Caucus in the House of Representatives signing this historic contract 2 weeks before the election.

As you all know, Republicans had just been defeated in a landslide election just a year or so prior. The Democrats had complete and total control of all branches of government and had spent the last year+ ramming through the Assault Weapons Ban, The Brady Bill, Tax Increases including on Social Security, retroactive tax increases by canceling tax cuts from a few years earlier. They had spent a year trying to cram Hillary Care which would have nationalized 1/7th of the American economy through. The Clinton administration had spent two years before the 1992 elections and after trashing the “Radical Religious Right” as Jocelyn Elders went out on a daily basis advocating for teaching kindergartners about sex and passing out condoms in grade schools…Clinton had made a mess in Somalia and had allowed American warships to be chased out of Haiti by a club wielding mob and the Democrats hadn’t come up with an economic package it could run on.

Thanks to Erick Erickson and his Operation Leper diaries, after viewing comments, several questions have been raised about who is behind the vicious and subversive trashing of Sarah Palin by staffers from the McCain Campaign.

The first obvious question since those engaged in this subterfuge are McCain staffers is, “Does Senator McCain approve of these smears of his running mates?”

My take on this is, “If John McCain disapproves of the treatment of Governor Palin he would condemn these attacks.” Thanks to davidingeorgia there is a way to urge him to call for an end to the sniping.

Ever since John McCain won the nomination this past March, I have struggled with the idea of casting a vote for him. I know…shocking ain’t it? I’ve tried to hide my contempt for the man and I’m sure many of you are shocked to hear this for the first time. {/sarc}

So Monday I’m out taking a new contract to the Title Company, dealing with a home inspection for a client, and spending a daddy day with my three year old while the other two boys were in school. Being a traditionalist, I generally don’t vote early believing that election day is a solemn occasion and the process of walking into the polling place and carrying out ones duty to choose our leadership should be a sacrosanct and special occassion.

Well, this year I made an exception. So many people are now voting early that election day has lost much of it’s traditional meaning. Besides, taking my three year old into the polls and voting in his presence would be educational for him and instill that sense of duty in him that I learned by going with my Dad to the polls.

Well…I’ve lived all my life in a world where the Democrat Party was the party of government expansion and socialist engineering of everything from our social lives to the economy. Once a post is made it has become impossible to enter “My Diary” to read and reply to comments. I think most posters have stopped trying to comment on Diaries because it’s not worth the hassle. I know I’ve begun just posting to My Diary because it will still let me post Diaries and going somewhere else to interact with my Conservative/Republican brethren because I can’t enter “My Diary” to reply to commenters!

Many of the posters keep hitting reload and posting numerous times…I know…I’ve done it myself…so I’ve learned to stay away from the reload button…I’ll post something…leave the diary or thread…go all the way back to the home page…scroll down and find the Diary I posted to….cut and past my comment, (which I’ve written in word so I won’t lose it)….post it again because it looks like nothing has posted…and then 15 minutes latter…I’ve got 3 of the same comments posted in a thread.

Someone posted a Diary 7 to 9 times the other day and pushed everyone off the member’s diary board!

If it means buying new servers, or replacing the platform, or software or a law suit against the crooks that sold Red State this steaming pile of crap! whatever the H!@@ it is, I’ll pledge $50 right now to get this thing fixed and I urge you all to make a pledge in this thread.

This is an update of a post I did a couple weeks ago before the polls caught up to my thinking. I might add that I was ridiculed and ignored when I posted the first installment of this. I guess the worm has turned as I predicted…hmmm!

Gallup has now proven that the dire predictions of the imminent doom of the Republican Party are not only premature, to the contrary, the opposite is truly possible!

I would add that those dire predictions have been used as an excuse for the sorry leadership the Republican Party has gotten from Congressman Tom Cole at the NRCC, John Ensign at the NRSC and Chairman of the RNC Mike Duncan.

I thought this was a joke at the beginning of the column. I thought it was a parody of the Leftist arguments in defense of their despicable treatment of Governor Palin. It turns out it’s a juvenile and amateurish attempt at a serious response to Republican complaints of desperate attacks on Governor Palin by the so called “objective media”.

Sadly, it is a textbook example of obfuscation and straw man arguments that attempts to answer arguments from critics that have never been made by a slavish press who has sold it’s soul to the Obama Campaign.

Today my wife emailed me her response to a friend who had filled her inbox with questions about Sarah Palin and the smears coming from the so called agents of tolerance on the left. With every passing hour comes word through the political grapevine that John McCain has settled on Romney, or considering Mike Huckabee, or picked Ron Paul. Even Hillary Clinton’s name has been thrown around this afternoon.
Probably the biggest issue surrounding McCain’s VP pick is whether he’ll dare pick a populist candidate as his running mate. A small vocal base of the richest 1% of Americans is up in arms at the thought of a populist candidate on the ticket. Dire predictions that McCain’s Robber Baron base will turn on him if he picks a populist candidate are all over the rich white guy blogosphere. There is however, a growing chorus of folks on the right who think a bold out-of-the-box pick is exactly what McCain needs to win.
