Needing something to read this week as I did my daily running of children all over the German countryside, I picked up Paul Powell’s Feet of Clay. I had read this book several years ago as part of a small group study. In the book, Powell takes a look at 13 emotions that make us stumble. He uses examples of biblical people to make his point. Why, oh why, haven’t they been more forceful? It just boggles my mind and rips at my gut all day every day. And, it is what will drive me to full blown Obama Derangement Syndrome should the unthinkable happen in 14 days.

Mark Salter has given a candid and forceful interview to Jeff Goldberg of The Atlantic. He touchs on all the points we so desperately needed to have articulated for six months now. This is my favorite exchange though-

Given these allegations, as well as the well-documented fraud convictions in recent years of ACORN employees, I urge you to launch a nationwide criminal probe into ACORN’s voter registration activities. As you know, federal law prohibits an individual from (1) providing fraudulent voter registration information; (2) conspiring to encourage false registration or illegal voting; and (3) paying or offering to pay another individual for registering or voting. It is also a crime to knowingly procure or submit false, fictitious, or fraudulent voter registration applications. Finally, I must add that, because the violations of federal voting laws by ACORN employees appear to be so widespread, ACORN and its affiliates should be investigated as a criminal enterprise.

I will confess that being on RS depresses me these days as does Malkin. It seems like we are losing our fire in the belly and are quick to b*tch about Johnny Mac for the heck of it. Well, I want to win and I sure wish we could get that fire back.

Obama and his supporters have been complaining the last couple of days, accusing the McCain campaign creating mob mentalities. I have read that they are forming lynching mobs, stirring up anger, and causing division.

People are pissed off at the attacks they have endured, from Obama supporters, for months.
People are pissed off at being threatened with riots, should Obama lose.
People are disgusted with Obama’s major flip flops.
People are worried, since learning, about Obama’s socialist past.
People are freaked out by the Obama worship, the militant like groups, the blue shirts, the Hitler-esque salutes and symbols, and the children singing videos.
People are pissed off that Obama has very few accomplishments, and is given a pass.
People are pissed off that Obama is caught saying one thing publicly and another thing privately, and is given a pass.

Seriously, go read it all. My guess is you will agree with every single point.

I must admit, I was reeling yesterday with the news of Bristol Palin’s pregnancy. Not that it would change my vote or anything, because it won’t. But I did still have questions. My big questions were-

Did John McCain really know this in advance?

All indications are that he did know about this and Todd’s DUI that took place before the Palins were married in 1986. The Washington Post has a good story on how McCain chose Palin. I had read it before and re-read it to soothe my mind.

As I have watched the reaction to Sarah Palin’s new place on the McCain ticket, I have been shocked by so many different things. I don’t know why though. Lord knows the left has spent the last 8 years villifying anything Bush or Republicans have tried to do or stand for. I did hold out some hope that there would be some type of moratorium on the nonsense for at least a couple of days while they at least researched their slams since McCain caught them all off guard. Ha, guess I’m a sucker.

Here is the latest from Politico-

John McCain was aiming to make history with his pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and historians say he succeeded.

Presidential scholars say she appears to be the least experienced, least credentialed person to join a major-party ticket in the modern era.

So unconventional was McCain’s choice that it left students of the presidency literally “stunned,” in the words of Joel Goldstein, a St. Louis University law professor and scholar of the vice presidency. “Being governor of a small state for less than two years is not consistent with the normal criteria for determining who’s of presidential caliber,” said Goldstein.

The article blathers on and on and even mentions this little tidbit-

“It would be one thing if she had only been governor for a year and a half, but prior to that she had not had major experience in public life,” said Dallek of Palin. “The fact that he would have to go to somebody who is clearly unqualified to be president makes Obama look like an elder statesman.”

I know many of you here think James Dobson is a quack, detriment to the cause, etc… But we can not deny that he is a vocal force for Evangelical Christians and that many, many people listen to what he says and take it to heart.

Fox News is reporting that McCain has indeed chosen his running mate and will appear with him/her tomorrow at 11:00 AM.

The identity of McCain’s vice presidential selection is still unknown, but the presumptive GOP presidential nominee made the decision Thursday and is expected to shortly notify his selection, according to campaign manager Rick Davis.

So now we wait and continually refresh Marc Ambinder as he was the one to figure out Biden from the movement. Will McCain botch it as bad as Obama did? Gaw, I hope not.

50/50-I say it’s Romney. Just my gut.
